In 2020, our firm assisted Vantage Airport Group (Vantage) with its teaming negotiations with Plenary Americas in connection with an RFQ issued by Amtrak for a master developer for the redevelopment and operation of the William H. Gray III 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

On August 31, 2021, Amtrak reached financial close with Plenary Infrastructure Philadelphia (PIP), a consortium consisting of Plenary Americas, Gilbane Building Company, Johnson Controls, and Vantage, for the refurbishment and improvement of the station on a 50-year term. Under the terms of the agreement, Vantage will act as the concessions development and management partner for the revitalized station.

This project is part of a larger portfolio that McCarthy Tétrault is assisting Vantage on, including all of its corporate, commercial and business development matters internationally, including in connection with airports in Canada, Cyprus, Jamaica, Bahamas, the U.S. and the U.K. Legal advice provided ranged from the provision of corporate secretary and governance advice to assistance with negotiations with governmental authorities in the connection with foreign airport and rail procurements, negotiations with airport and rail project company co-sponsors and shareholders, assistance with intellectual property matters, trademark infringement issues, M&A and regulatory advice and financing matters.

McCarthy Tétrault advised Vantage with a team led by Jody Aldcorn that included Erin O’Callaghan, Ailbish Bruchet, Kelsey Franks, Xinya Wang and Curtis Chance.
