On February 21, 2023, Cogeco Connexion Inc. ("Cogeco") announced the acquisition of the telecommunications operations of oxio, an internet service provider. Oxio offers telecommunications services and will grant Cogeco a license for its gaiia proprietary software, which Cogeco will use to serve oxio’s customers.

Founded in 2019, oxio is an independent residential internet service provider based in the Province of Québec.

The second largest cable operator in Ontario and Québec, Cogeco provides Internet, video and telephony services to residential and small business customers.
