Ziad Shanab is an associate in our Montreal Labour and Employment group. His practice focuses on representing both provincially and federally regulated employers. 

Ziad counsels clients about various employment issues, including hirings, disciplinary measures, human rights issues and key terminations, as well as the interpretation and application of employment contracts. He provides employment law support on commercial transactions and advises on questions regarding benefits, major class action risks, executive compensation, workplace policies and termination packages.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tetrault, Ziad acted as legal counsel to a major Canadian financial institution, where he regularly advised C-level executives and provided key strategic advice on contentious as well as non-contentious matters, including matters pertaining to employment standards legislation and complaints before the Canadian Human Rights Commission.

Ziad holds a bachelor’s degree in civil law (L.L.B.) from University of Montreal, where he is currently completing his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in North American Common law.

He was called to the Québec Bar in 2021 and has been a member of the Young Bar of Montreal’s Relations Committee since then.
