Drawing on multi-sectored industry experience and technical knowledge, Ivor aims to provide clients with strategic and practical advice across a broad range of transactional mandates.

Ivor Selimovic is an Associate in the firm’s Business Law Group in Toronto. He maintains a general business law practice which includes advising clients on a wide range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate finance, and general corporate matters.

Ivor received his J.D. from Western University, where he was awarded the A.B. Siskind Scholarship for obtaining the highest academic standing in the third year of the J.D. program and the Torys LLP Award in Business Law for the highest standing in business law courses. While at law school, Ivor represented Western Law at the 2018 Canadian National Negotiation Competition and was selected through the Western Law Internship Program to work as a legal intern with the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal in Munich, Germany.

Prior to law school, Ivor earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree and held roles across the aerospace manufacturing, civil infrastructure and financial services industries. Most recently, Ivor worked in the finance division of a global automotive manufacturer, with a focus on artificial intelligence technology project management.

Ivor was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Ivor joined the firm as a summer student in 2019 and completed his articles with the firm in 2021.
