Rita Iafrate is a second year J.D./M.B.A. student at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business. Before entering the dual degree program, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society and with a minor in Philosophy. During her time at York, Rita worked with the Head of McLaughlin College under the direction of the Dean of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies to coordinate a peer mentorship program for first year students. 

Since starting law school, Rita received the Hennick Scholars award for academic excellence. This past summer, Rita worked with Starlight Investment’s in-house legal team on various matters related to private equity and commercial transactions. Rita hopes to continue developing her interest in business law at McCarthy Tétrault. 

More recently, Rita advanced to the semi-finals of the Dentons Canada Negotiation Competition and was selected to represent Osgoode’s mediation team at the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) tournament in Bologna, Italy. 

In her free time, she enjoys walking her dog Pluto and creating new ice cream flavours.
