Nico graduated from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2023, after obtaining an honours bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from McGill University. At UVic, Nico received the British Columbia Superior Court Judges Scholarship for general academic proficiency and the McCarthy Tétrault Scholarship in memory of John Finlay for outstanding performance in the mooting program.

In law school, Nico was an active volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada and supported projects at the Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition and the BC Law Institute. Nico was also a Peer Tutor for first-year law students and worked at UVic’s pro bono legal clinic, the Law Centre. Nico was a Distinguished Oralist at the 2022 Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot Competition and received the D. Paul Emond Award for best respondent's factum.

Outside of work, Nico enjoys hiking, running, and being outdoors.
