Ming Lau is a registered professional planner in our Real Property and Planning Group in Toronto. Ming supports a wide range of private and public sector clients by providing planning advice on development proposals, government policy, and regulatory documents. Ming’s multi-disciplinary background in land use planning, project management, policy planning and public engagement equips her with a diverse skill-set to effectively manage a variety of projects throughout the development process and to provide strategic planning advice to her clients.

Experience

Ming draws on 15 years of experience in land use planning with both the private and public sector. Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Ming was a planning consultant. She brings extensive experience in a broad range of planning matters including the preparation and management of comprehensive development applications for public and private clients throughout Ontario. Ming has represented clients before municipal council and committees, and has provided expert testimony at the Ontario Municipal Board. She has also conducted numerous highest and best use analyses and provided expert testimony at the Board of Negotiation. In addition to private sector development, Ming has significant experience completing complex studies and drafting public policy on behalf of regional and local level governments. Her experience, writing skills, technical knowledge of municipal land use control documents, and familiarity with the development approvals process are an asset to client teams and the Real Property & Planning Group.
