Mariana began her law studies at the University of Bahia, Brazil and University of Coimbra, Portugal, and later decided to move to Germany where she graduated with a law degree from the University of Cologne. The two-year articling period of the German licensing process allowed her to work for international and local law firms in Germany, Brazil and the UK, as well as for the German court and public prosecution before passing her bar exam in Stuttgart in 2014. The nine years prior to McCarthy Tétrault she spent at a German boutique firm in corporate and commercial law, providing legal services to small and medium enterprises. Most recently, she received her LL.M. degree in Canadian Law from the University of Toronto. 

Mariana has a passion for languages and different cultures, loves to discover different parts of the world and speaks English, German and Portuguese fluently. She is a member of the Munich Law Society (Rechtsanwaltskammer München) and admitted to practice in Germany.
