Krystel received her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior beginning her legal studies, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies and Business with a minor in Human Resources Management from the University of Waterloo. 

During her time at Osgoode, Krystel was actively involved in various organizations, including the Osgoode Black Law Students Association and the Osgoode Privacy Law Society. She also served as a Clinic Fellow with the Osgoode Innovation Clinic, where she supported pro-bono clients seeking assistance with intellectual property law matters. Krystel also completed a placement with the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights as part of Osgoode’s International and Transnational Law Intensive Program. At this placement, she contributed to the organization’s efforts at advancing the right to housing in Canada through conducting research on relevant international law principles. 

In her final year of law school, Krystel served as a research assistant to Professor Poonam Puri. In this role, she contributed to a number of projects, including conducting research on various corporate governance and securities-law related topics. 

Outside of law, Krystel enjoys travelling and has been on a number of solo trips including to Iceland, Portugal, and Spain. She also enjoys checking out restaurants in the city and participating in group fitness classes.
