Jieru recently completed her second year at Western University, Faculty of Law. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Ningbo University with the Highest Distinction and completed her LLM at Renmin University of China and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. During her undergraduate and graduate studies, she was heavily involved in mooting and debating, and also served as an editor at a law press. 

Before moving to Canada, Jieru worked as an associate at a top-tier law firm in China, specializing in corporate law. During her time there, she undertook a six-month secondment with an in-house legal team at a healthcare company. 

Jieru is actively engaged in her community. She volunteers with the Cross-Cultural Learner Center to assist refugee families in settling in London, Ontario. In her spare time, Jieru enjoys travelling, reading, baking and spending time with her family.
