Cayne recently completed the second year of his JD at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. Last summer, Cayne earned an International Business Law Certificate at Bader College in East Sussex, England. During this program, he was exposed to various areas of law, including international arbitration, investor-state dispute resolution and international commercial transactions. In his second year of law school, Cayne was involved in Pro Bono Dalhousie, where he worked with Sport Nova Scotia to develop programs related to safe sport education. 

Before law school, Cayne completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. At Mount Allison, Cayne was a member of the Mounties varsity football team as a defensive lineman and was an Academic All-Canadian in his final year. He was also involved in academic mentorship for student-athletes, founding the Mounties Football Writing Centre to assist his teammates in the classroom. 

Cayne grew up in Sharon, Ontario and attended St. Andrew’s College for middle school and high school. At SAC, he was a member of First Rugby and First Football, earning an Addison Award in his final year for his outstanding contributions to the school’s football program. 

Outside of school, Cayne enjoys playing musical instruments. In 2022, he released an entirely self-recorded, written and produced four-song EP on major streaming platforms. He also enjoys lifting weights, watching college football, and playing Pickleball with his friends.
