Cameron Belsher,* K.C. is Co-head of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Based in Toronto and Vancouver, Cam works closely with colleagues at all levels to support the firm’s vision to grow as an innovative, market leading firm providing unparalleled legal and business solutions to our clients.

A trusted adviser to many clients, Cam has recently acted as lead counsel on a wide variety of matters, including:

  • Healthcare technology company and TSX listed, QHR Technologies’ sale to Loblaw
  • ecommerce company and NASDAQ listed, Clearly Contacts’ sale to Essilor Inc.
  • Consumer products company, The Original Cakerie’s sale to private equity group Gryphon Investors
  • Rio Tinto’s acquisition of TSX listed uranium company, Hathor Exploration Ltd.
  • JHI Investment’s acquisition (with other private equity partners) of real estate development company Taylor Morrison for $1.15 billion and subsequent NYSE listing
  • Whistler Blackcomb Holdings’ initial public offering on the TSX
  • CEF Holding’s acquisition (with other private equity partners) of IAMGOLD’s Niobec Mine
  • TSX listed GLENTEL’s acquisition by BCE

With strong communication skills and deep rooted relationships in Canada and internationally, he has a keen grasp of the national market, as well as insight into U.S. and international M&A activity.

Cam is a former member of the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) Listings Advisory Committee, which is composed of individuals representing legal, brokerage and securities related industries and provides feedback on TSX listings initiatives. He has lectured extensively on mergers and acquisitions and public corporation matters and is a former adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia. He received his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1987.
