Ashley Piotto is a law clerk in the Business Law Group in the Toronto office. Ashley works closely with our lawyers and clients in various areas of corporate and business law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and tax reorganizations and as well as general corporate governance matters under both Ontario and Federal legislation. With over 10 years of experience as a law clerk for several major Canadian law firms, Ashley offers extensive general and transactional corporate experience with clients from across a wide range of industries.

Experience

Ashley brings extensive expertise in all aspects of corporate law including formations/organizations, due diligence/minute book reviews, share and asset sales/purchases, amendments, amalgamations, continuances, dissolutions, limited partnerships, roll-overs and as well as preparing closing agendas and checklists in connection with various corporate transactions. In addition, Ashley has experience in competition and franchising law. She has also assisted on files involving mortgage securitization and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario licences.

Certifications and Education

Ashley earned a Law Clerk Diploma with honours from The Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. She is a member of The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario and attends various seminars and conferences on a regular basis with emphasis in corporate law and professional development.
