In 2021, Alberta Infrastructure declared VINCI Infrastructure Canada Limited as the successful EPC contract bidder for detailed design and construction of the Springbank Reservoir. Construction of the Springbank Reservoir began in March, 2022, and is expected to continue to 2025. The Springbank Reservoir covers 3,700 acres and the aim is to protect Calgary and other areas along the Bow and Elbow Rivers from a once-in-a-century flood event, like the one that hit in 2013, causing an estimated $5 billion in damage across southern Alberta. The Springbank Reservoir Project is described by Alberta’s Premier as “one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the Province.”

VINCI Infrastructure Canada Limited is a Canadian subsidiary of Paris based VINCI.

McCarthy Tétrault is advising VINCI Infrastructure Canada Limited with a team led by Bryan West that includes Jordan Bierkos, Andrew West, Colleen Bonnyman (Litigation), and Justin Turc (Labour & Employment).
