On April 20, 2006, The Toronto Dominion Bank acquired the shares of TD Banknorth Inc. which it did not already own, being approximately 43% of the total shares outstanding. McCarthy Tétrault assisted with Canadian aspects of this US-based offer, specifically relating to regulatory matters, TSX issues, providing Canadian tax advice and corporate matters relating to the transaction.
