On March 31, 2021, The Tahltan Central Government, the Provincial Government of BC, Skeena Resources Limited, the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and BC Parks Foundation finalized the creation of a Conservancy in northwestern BC, to protect the environment and wildlife on a portion of Tahltan traditional territory known as the Ice Mountain Lands. This Conservancy will be jointly managed by the Tahltan Central Government (on behalf of the Tahltan Nation) and the Province of BC.

Prior to the creation of the Conservancy, much of the land was covered by Skeena’s mineral claims.

Skeena Resources is a junior mineral exploration company focused on developing prospective precious metal properties in Tahltan Territory in the Golden Triangle of northwest British Columbia, Canada.
