Research In Motion Ltd. acquires Epoch Integration Inc.

On September 22, 2006, RIM acquired all of the outstanding shares of Epoch Integration Inc., a Toronto-based developer of enterprise monitoring software. Epoch has been well known to many of RIM's customers for years. Epoch's main product, called NeedText, is a set of software tools for managing RIM's BlackBerry enterprise server; a product that corporate and government clients use to disperse and collect data to and from BlackBerry devices.  NeedText will now be integrated into future versions of the BlackBerry enterprise server. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

BlackBerry Limited, formerly known as Research In Motion Limited (RIM),is a Canadian telecommunication and wireless equipment company best known to the general public as the developer of the BlackBerry brand of smartphones and tablets, but also well known worldwide as a provider of secure & high reliability software for industrial applications and mobile device management (MDM).
