On March 29, 2012, OMERS Ventures and HootSuite Media Inc., announced one of the largest Canadian venture capital transactions to take place in the past 10 years.  OMERS Ventures is buying a C$20 million ownership stake in Vancouver-based HootSuite via a secondary purchase from the company’s existing shareholders.

OMERS Ventures, headquarterd in Toronto, Ontario, is the venture capital investment arm of the OMERS Worldwide group of companies.

HootSuite Media, headquartered in Vancouver, Brisith Columbia, is a social media management system company.

McCarthy Tétrault LLP represented OMERS Ventures, as acquiror, with a team led by W. Palm, and including James Gannon, James Morand, and Gregory Winfield.
