On September 7, 2007, US-based private equity group, New Stream, acquired all of the outstanding shares of Siemens Laserworks Inc. for an undisclosed amount. 

McCarthy Tétrault acted for the syndicate of lenders led by The Bank of Nova Scotia in connection with the acquisition. The team was led by Joel Scoler, and included Ana Badour, Ira Cooper, Richard Higa, and Gregory Liakopolous.
