On September 10, 2021, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment received its final approvals in the regulatory processes for the return of the Toronto Raptors to Canada for the upcoming NBA basketball season. Starting in October 2021, the 2019 NBA champions will host home games at ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto for the first time since the NBA shut down for COVID-19 in March of 2020. As a result of COVID protocols and travel restrictions in Canada, the Toronto Raptors had to relocate to Tampa for the 2020-21 season and play home games out of Amalie Arena.

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is a professional sports and commercial real estate company, and the parent company of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, and other clubs.
