On August 1, 2008, Major Drilling Group International announced that it has completed the purchase of the exploration drilling company Forage à Diamant Benoit Limitée based in Val-d’Or, Québec (Canada) for an aggregate purchase price of C$21 million subject to customary price adjustments.

Major Drilling Group International Inc. is one of the largest drilling service companies in the world in the mining industry.  The firm is based in Moncton, New Brunswick.
