On June 21, 2018,  Pomerleau announced that La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec ("CDPQ") had acquired a minority interest in Pomerleau with an investment of C$50 million. The investment will allow Pomerleau to execute its strategic growth and expansion plan over the coming years, and allow Pomerleau to innovate, continue to be equipped with better tools and take advantage of new technologies that draw on Building Information Modeling (BIM), virtual reality, robotics and artificial intelligence.

Pomerleau is one of the leading general contractors in Canada and has nine offices across the country. Pomerleau owns Beaubois, a company specializing in millwork and architectural woodwork, and co-owns Borea Construction, the leader in the Canadian wind farm industry.

CDPQ is a long-term institutional investor that manages several public and parapublic pension plans and insurance programs

McCarthy Tétrault LLP advised Pomerleau with a team led by Clemens Mayr that included Hadrien Montagne, Xin Gao, Tamara Shabazova, Konstantin Sobolevski and Jordan Bélanger (Business), and Christian Meighen, Marie-Soleil Landry and Quentin Lageix (Tax).
