CPDQ invests through Teralys Capital in BKR Capital

On February 1, 2022, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec ("CDPQ") through Teralys Capital completed an investment in BKR Capital (formerly Black Innovation Fund), a Canadian venture capital fund focused on investing in Canadian pre-seed and seed stage technology companies founded by Black entrepreneurs. CDPQ made its investment as part of a C$4.5 million investment including Fondaction, joining existing investors in BKR Capital such as BDC Capital.

Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec invested in BKR Capital through an investment vehicle managed by Teralys Capital on its behalf.

Teralys Capital, based in Montréal, is a technology-focused Fund of funds which finances private venture capital funds investing in life sciences, information technology and cleantech companies.

McCarthy Tétrault advised Teralys Capital with a team led by Mathieu Laflamme that included Alexandre Saulnier-Marceau (Corporate), Marie-Soleil Landry, and Julien Leblanc (Tax).
