On February 1, 2021, the City of Medicine Hat sold their interest in the Glauc C oilfield to Cache Island Corp., a private energy transition company with conventional oil and gas assets along with renewable energy projects. The Glauc C oilfield is located on the eastern boundary of the City.

Medicine Hat is a city located in southeast Alberta known for its natural gas fields.
