Canada Infrastructure Bank completes a C$300M investment in the Réseau Express Métropolitain project

On April 15, 2021, Canada Infrastructure Bank ("CIB") provided a loan of up to C$300 M to build on its previous C$1.3 B investment in the Réseau Express Métropolitain ("REM"). The CIB is investing C$35 B new revenue-generating infrastructure projects which are in the public interest, increase economic growth and take action on climate change. The CIB is getting more infrastructure built by partnering with private and institutional investors, and governments across Canada.

CIB is a Canadian crown corporation that co-invests in infrastructure projects, specifically in public transit, trade and transportation, and green infrastructure.

The REM is a light rail transit network currently under construction in Greater Montréal. REM will consist of 26 stations across the Greater Montréal area and will provide fast and direct service between downtown Montréal and the Montréal–Trudeau International Airport.
