On July 31, 2007, Anglo American plc (through a wholly owned subsidiary) became a 50% partner with Northern Dynasty Minerals LTD. (through a wholly owned subsidiary of its own) in a limited partnership in the Pebble Copper-Gold-Molybdenum Project in southwestern Alaska, USA, by committing to make a staged cash investment of US$1.425 billion, based on certain milestones.
