The acquisition of Solumed brings a chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and alcohol-based line of products to 3M's core offering for infection prevention.

A recognized leader in research and development, 3M produces thousands of innovative products for dozens of diverse markets. 3M’s core strength is applying its more than 40 distinct technology platforms –often in combination – to a wide array of customer needs.

Les Entreprises Solumed Inc. is a Canadian company that develops and markets skin asepsis (infection prevention) products intended for intravenous therapy, preoperative care, operating room care, home care and hand hygiene.

McCarthy Tétrault LLP advised Solumed with a team led by Éric Gosselin.
