Veronica Van Dalen is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. Her intellectual property practice focuses on patent litigation and copyright disputes. Veronica's experience in these areas includes work for major pharmaceutical and telecommunications companies.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Veronica clerked for the Honourable Justice Donald J. Rennie of the Federal Court of Appeal. At the Court, Veronica worked on cases in the areas of intellectual property, administrative law, constitutional law, tax law, and procedure before the Federal Courts.

Veronica obtained her JD from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude with a specialization in law and technology. During her studies, Veronica completed internships at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, where she worked primarily on domain name disputes, and at the Ontario Court of Justice, where she provided research support to the criminal court judges. Veronica graduated as the recipient of multiple academic awards for her performance in the school's intellectual property courses.

Veronica received her BSc (Hons) in biochemistry with First Class Honours from Mount Allison University. As part of her Honours degree, Veronica defended a thesis on the topic of algal metabolic pathways.

Veronica was called to the Ontario bar in 2022. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
