Law School

University of British Columbia

Tora is a law student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University, where she studied Sociology and Microbiology & Immunology. Prior to attending law school, she spent several years working in the Equity & Inclusion Office of a large Canadian university.

At law school, Tora has volunteered extensively with the Law Students Legal Advice Program, where she worked during the summer after first year. She has also conducted volunteer legal research for an environmental organization through Pro Bono Students Canada. In 2023, she was awarded the Brian Higgins Memorial Award for dedication to the cause of access to justice and volunteering substantial time and effort in delivering pro bono legal services. In her second year of law school she competed in the Wilson Moot, a Charter law moot focused on promoting justice for those traditionally disempowered within the legal system. After law school, Tora will be clerking at the BC Court of Appeal.

When not at work, you can find Tora exploring the city on her bicycle, perusing local farmers markets, or curled up with a good book.
