Solomon is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. He is building a general litigation practice with a focus on commercial disputes, international and domestic arbitrations, class actions, public law and infrastructure and construction disputes. Solomon has assisted with a variety of hearings, trials, arbitrations and a public inquiry.

Solomon McKenzie received his JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2019. Solomon was the Class of 2019 Valedictorian, as well the recipient of the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award, John Willis Award & Gina Caldarelli Memorial Prize for School Spirit and the Dean’s Leadership Award. At the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Solomon served as the President of the Students’ Law Society, the Black Law Students’ Association and Out in Law. While in law school Solomon was a research assistant for Dean Brunnée and worked as a Criminal Law Division Lead at Downtown Legal Services.

Before pursuing a law degree, Solomon received his Master’s and Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) from McGill University in 2015 and 2013, respectively.

Solomon was called to the Ontario bar in 2020. He is a member of the Advocacy Committee of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, an advisor at Hard Feelings and a board member of the Canadian Association of LGBTQ2S+ Lawyers (CALL/ICAL). He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
