Shaun is a Juris Doctor candidate at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law (LASL) at Toronto Metropolitan University. Shaun attained a Master of Science degree from McMaster University in health research. Before his graduate studies, Shaun received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, where he served as President of the University of Toronto Students’ Union. 

Shaun worked as a researcher at the University Health Network, supporting international health technology companies’ research and regulatory needs. He also served as a researcher for an Ontario higher education organization, providing research and strategic advice for collective bargaining negotiations. 

During his legal studies, Shaun provided legal support to start-up entrepreneurs at the DMZ’s Student Legal Services Clinic, operated in partnership with MT>Ventures. He completed a second legal clinic experience supporting small business owners at the Slingshot x LALS Legal Clinic, operated in collaboration with Gilbert’s LLP. 

During his 1L summer, Shaun was a summer legal student with Fiera Capital’s compliance team, where he produced legal memos on securities regulations, ESG compliance, and Quebec’s French language law.

Shaun was a finalist in the 2022 Lincoln Alexander Cup, a negotiation competition. He competed in the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, where his peers awarded him the Spirit of Negotiation Award. Shaun is a recipient of the BlackNorth Initiative Scholarship and the Dr. Anver Saloojee Award for Anti-Discrimination. 

Shaun often plays basketball, travels, and listens to podcasts outside of work.
