Ruo Lan is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law, earning her joint B.C.L./J.D. degree in 2022. Prior to her university studies, she completed a DEC in Social Sciences with distinction at Champlain College St. Lawrence.

At McGill, she was involved in various initiatives to promote access to justice, including Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC), the Legal Information Clinic at McGill, and L.E.X Outreach, a student-run program offering legal rights workshops for young people. She also volunteered with the Mobile Legal Clinic and the Center for Research-Action on Racial Relations, where she helped her clients, often marginalized individuals, to navigate the justice system.

Ruo Lan also had the opportunity to work at the ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie on commercial and international law files that had repercussions for Québec companies.

In her free time, she enjoys soccer, climbing, drums, learning languages, and discovering new restaurants.
