Dushime joined McCarthy Tétrault's Montreal office as a Law Student in Fall 2022. He is a recent McGill University law graduate, holding a bachelor’s in civil law (B.C.L.) and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) which he completed in 2024. Venturing abroad, he enriched his legal education as an exchange student at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law in Winter 2023. Dushime also graduated from Concordia University as the recipient of the O’Brien Medal and with a B.A. Honours with Distinction in 2020. 

Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, Dushime worked as a consultant at a leading multinational human resource firm as well as a summer law student at a leading Canadian law firm. 

At law school, he led legal research at Blockchain-at-McGill, primarily focusing on smart contracts and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. He was co-President of Tech Law McGill, a junior editor at the Black Law Journal, and was involved in intramural sports competitions.

Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Dushime continues to be involved in his community. In his leadership capacities at the Refugee Advisory Group of Canada, Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada and Global Affairs Canada, he actively advocates for newcomer youth and refugee issues across Canada and the globe.

Dushime is fluent in French, English, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and Luganda.
