Laurence completed her Bachelor of Civil Law (LL.B.) at Université Laval and is currently completing a master's degree with thesis (LL.M.) at the same university. Her research focuses on harm suffered by users of the health and social services system in the province of Québec. 

During her studies, Laurence was a member of the Rouge et Or rugby team, with whom she won the Canadian University Rugby Championship three times. She was captain of that team for her last three years in the program. 

Concurrently, she was involved in various committees and completed a research internship at the Québec Superior Court. She also worked as a research and teaching assistant for two professors at Université Laval. 

Her involvement and the excellence of her academic and athletic records earned her a Leadership and Commitment Scholarship for her graduate studies.
