Biography

Jessica Mank is an associate in McCarthy Tétrault’s Vancouver litigation group. With a practice focused on commercial disputes and securities litigation, Jessica has experience representing clients in a broad range of matters including securities regulatory matters, shareholder disputes, class actions, proxy contests and litigation involving disputed transactions. She has also assisted clients with addressing sensitive issues and has conducted investigations into allegations of corporate misconduct.

As a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation Group, Jessica has appeared before securities regulators in British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta, and before the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization. She has acted on behalf of both individuals and corporations in matters involving allegations of insider trading, market manipulation, disclosure violations and fraud.

Jessica attended law school at the University of Toronto. She completed an exchange at the Hong Kong University Faculty of Law while completing her law degree.

  • Re Impact Analytics Inc., 2024 ABASC 94, representing a financial services company before the Alberta Securities Commission in successfully opposing an application to extend an interim cease trade order.
  • Cineplex v. Cineworld, 2021 ONSC 8016, representing Cineworld in significant M&A litigation concerning termination of $2.8B+ transaction for breaches of ordinary course covenant.
  • Representing an individual before the British Columbia Securities Commission regarding allegations of a pump and dump scheme.
  • Representing a cultural organization in litigation aspects of a proxy contest.
  • Representing a financial services company in a securities regulatory investigation regarding tied selling.
  • Representing a cannabis company in a securities class action regarding allegations of misleading disclosure.
  • Conducting an internal investigation of a technology company regarding allegations of corporate misconduct, fraud and accounting regulatory non-compliance.
  • Representing companies in industries including technology, power, and gaming in disputes regarding public procurement processes.
