James completed his J.D. at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law. Before beginning his legal studies, James also completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (with Distinction) at the University of Calgary.

Prior to summering with the firm, James worked as a summer student for the University of Alberta’s Pro Bono Students Canada chapter, where he helped low-income Albertans navigate a variety of legal issues.

While at law school, James volunteered as a caseworker with Student Legal Services’ Legal Education division. In addition, he served on the executive team of the University of Alberta’s OUTlaw club.

In his spare time, James enjoys running and spending time with friends and family.
