Brendan Smith is a Partner in our Municipal Law Group in Toronto. Mr. Smith provides strategic advice with respect to planning approvals and municipal law.

Significant representative projects and experience include:

• Advising on significant employment conversions, including the redevelopment of the Celestica Campus in Toronto and various appeals of City of Toronto Official Plan Amendment 231 with respect to employment policies;
• Advising on obtaining municipal approvals for significant residential development projects in Downtown Toronto including, 19 Duncan Street, Mirvish Village, 70-72 Carlton Street (Stanley Condos), The Well, among others;
• Advising on complex environmental matters related to the redevelopment of the Fed Ex Offices on Queens Quay East in Toronto; and
• Advising on major public sector and institutional projects with Metrolinx and Ryerson University among others.

Brendan obtained his Honours BA (with Distinction) in Geography from Western University in 2011. He received his JD from Western Law in 2014.

He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
