NAFTA Renegotiation Monitor

Toronto, November 16, 2017 (updated August 16, 2018) — McCarthy Tétrault, in partnership with U.S.-based Haynes and Boone LLP, recently released its newest guide: The NAFTA Renegotiation Monitor. The purpose of this guide is to keep stakeholders across all key industries affected by NAFTA up to date on essential elements of the ongoing renegotiations.

Several rounds of NAFTA negotiations have already taken place and a great many issues are on the table for discussion. As officials from the United States, Canada and Mexico decide the future of free trade across their borders, many businesses that are concerned find themselves with limited resources to track and monitor the negotiations.

The NAFTA Renegotiation Monitor is a comprehensive guide which includes:

  • An up-to-date overview of the each country’s approach to the most important NAFTA issues
  • A table comparing the positions of the three countries on each of the topics
  • Key developments that occur during the negotiation process
  • A straightforward reference to the topics on the table
  • Expert commentary on the current status of the negotiations and prospects for resolution of each issue.
