Thomas was born and raised in Vancouver where he completed his BSc in Microbiology and Immunology at UBC. During his undergrad, Thomas worked at BC Children’s Hospital where he researched cell signalling pathways. He then obtained his Master of Public Health degree in Hong Kong before returning to Vancouver to begin law school.
At Allard School of Law, Thomas serves as VP External for the Intellectual Property Club, a Law School Ambassador, and a Peer Tutor. Thomas also volunteered as a clinician for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) in Chinatown, providing free legal advice in Cantonese and English to low-income clients. He is the recipient of a number of awards, including the McCarthy Tétrault Prize in Property, the Sir Walter Kirke Smith Scholarship Award, and the UBC Environmental Law Group Negotiation Competition Top Prize. Thomas has also worked at the Sauder School of Business’ Real Estate Division where he assisted in the development of textbooks used for the licensing courses of real estate professionals across British Columbia.
Outside of law school, Thomas enjoys skiing, soccer, and exploring the mountains.
