Judy is entering her final year of the B.Soc.SC./JD dual degree program at the University of Ottawa, where she was awarded the Catherine Helen MacLean Memorial Scholarship. Since her second year of law school, Judy has worked at Celtic House Venture Partners, a venture capital firm investing primarily in tech start-ups. At Celtic House, Judy assisted with equity and debt financing transactions and gained invaluable exposure to the exciting world of emerging tech companies and early stage venture capital investing. This past summer, Judy worked at the Ontario Securities Commission Investor Office, where she had the opportunity to work closely with securities law experts at Canada’s largest securities regulator.
In addition to Judy’s professional activities, she is actively involved in the law school community. She served on the Executive Board of the University of Ottawa Business Law Society and also worked as a Senior Caseworker for the University of Ottawa Business Law Clinic, providing pro bono legal services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Additionally, Judy worked with Professor Colleen Flood and conducted research on Canadian health privacy laws in order to develop a privacy framework for ImmunizeCA, a mobile app that stores vaccination records and tracks disease outbreaks.
Outside of school and work, Judy enjoys painting and cycling. She also loves to travel and hopes to eventually visit every continent.
