He also represented UNB at the 2015-2016 Gale Cup where he competed against students from around the country in appellate advocacy. During his final year of law school, Niko had the opportunity to represent UNB again at the McKelvey Cup in trial advocacy. For his academic achievement, Niko was awarded the Allen Earle Scholarship and the Frank Covert Scholarship.
In his spare time, Niko enjoys playing guitar, outdoor sports, and martial arts.
Summering at McCarthy Tétrault has been a great opportunity to develop my advocacy skills in a collaborative environment. I had the chance to work together with a team of other students and lawyers on two files involving appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada. Working collaboratively allowed us to leverage each other’s perspectives. Not only did this produce a better work product, but we had the chance to develop important working relationships with each other, lawyers, and various support staff.
