Akiva is a second year J.D./M.B.A. student at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and Odette School of Business. He holds a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Human Resource Management (Honours) from York University. In the summer after his first year of law, Akiva acted as research assistant to a leading labour arbitrator in Ontario, and grew his own business, HR Aid, into a functional consulting hub for small business around the GTA.
Akiva is highly involved in both the business and law faculties. At the Faculty of Law, Akiva regularly competes in various moot competitions including the Canada United States Law Institute Business-Law Case Competition and the Hicks Morley Moot, and was selected as a finalist and top oralist in the 2016 Zuber Moot Competition. At the business faculty, Akiva currently holds the inaugural position as the Managing Director of the John Simpson Odette Student Investment Fund, where he is directly responsible for the first ever student run investment portfolio at the University of Windsor. In addition to his extra-curricular activities, Akiva is one of the founding ambassadors for the Capitalize for Kids Student Investors Challenge, which seeks to promote financial literacy and raise money for mental health initiatives in Toronto.
Akiva enjoys cooking, playing guitar, and has just published his first book entitled; Negotiation Lifestyle, which focuses on the nexus between emotional intelligence and negotiations.
