Jay attends Western law school in London, Ontario. He holds a BSc in Biology and a BA in Anthropology from McMaster University. He also holds CIDC (Certificate in Investment Dealer Compliance) from the Canadian Securities Institute which he attained by completing CSC, CPH and IDCC.
In the year prior to starting law school, Jay worked in the finance department of Canadian Tire Corporation. Since the start of law school in 2015, Jay has been working at the Elgin Oxford Legal Clinic in St. Thomas, Ontario and he has been the managing editor of the Canada-USA Journal of Legal Studies since 2016. In 2016, Jay summered at a small law firm in Toronto.
Jay plays competitive Cricket and is an avid follower of the game. He also enjoys learning about the philosophical underpinnings of science and religions, and politics, especially South Asia.
