Presented by the McCarthy Tétrault Advance™ program, this training session was held on Monday February 14, 2011 in Montréal.
Social media networks are becoming a preferred means of communication with customers for a large number of businesses. Before venturing into the world of Facebook®, Twitter® and others, every business should be aware of the risks and consequences associated with its involvement in social media.
The main objective of our speakers, with this presentation, was to help corporate legal counsel develop a strategy to guard against these risks while facilitating the use of social media by the company. The following subjects in particular were briefly discussed: key features for understanding social media; risks relating to the use of social media; guidelines for developing a policy on social media and questions relating to the use of social media by employees.
