McCarthy Tétrault salutes 2016 Rising Stars Ana Badour and Steeves Bujold
Toronto, November 18, 2016 — Last night in Toronto, two more McCarthy Tétrault partners were honoured with a Lexpert Rising Stars award. Ana Badour, partner in the firm’s Financial Services Group, and Steeves Bujold, partner in the Litigation Group, were named among this year’s select group of Canadian leading lawyers under 40.

Ana Badour’s practice focuses on regulatory and compliance issues relating to financial services entities, including banks, insurance companies, credit unions and Fintech entities. A Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, Ms. Badour regularly provides advice to clients in the financial services industry with respect to compliance with consumer protection requirements, anti-money laundering requirements, prudential requirements and other regulatory requirements. She is a frequent speaker and writer on Fintech and Fintech regulation, including payment innovation, marketplace lending, virtual currencies and blockchain technology.
Steeves Bujold’s litigation practice is well-diversified and encompasses class actions. Mr. Bujold has specific expertise in health law, namely in the pharmaceutical and medical liability areas. He frequently appears in proceedings before trial and appeal courts, as well as administrative tribunals. Actively involved with Pro Bono Québec since its inception, Mr. Bujold has been a member of the Board of Directors and Approval Committee for applications for free legal services of this organization dedicated to improving access to justice. Mr. Bujold leads the firm's pro bono initiatives in the Quebec region and is a member of the National Pro Bono Committee. He is in charge of McCarthy Tétrault's partnership with Lawyers Without Borders Canada.
