New Reform in Mexico: McCarthy Tétrault and Eminent Ambassador of Mexico Offer a Look at the Current Energy Landscape

Toronto, August 26, 2015 — McCarthy Tétrault, along with Mr. Jean Charest, had the honour to welcome Mr. Andrés Rozental, Eminent Ambassador of Mexico, for a special presentation on Mexico’s recent energy policy shift and implemented reform. Within the context of the International Economic Forum of the Americas, and for the second time in recent months, Mr. Rozental shared insight and important information with McCarthy Tétrault clients speaking to the current energy landscape, the fundamental principles of the energy reform as well as its impact on Canadian companies doing business in Mexico.

A career Mexican diplomat for more than 35 years, Andrés Rozental served his country as Deputy Foreign Minister (1988-1994), Ambassador to Sweden (1983-88), Permanent Representative of México to the United Nations in Geneva (1982-83) and Ambassador to the United Kingdom, (1995-1997) as well as in various responsibilities within the Mexican Foreign Ministry and abroad. Since 1994, he holds the lifetime rank of Eminent Ambassador of México.

Also present at this exclusive event, which took place on August 20 in McCarthy Tétrault ‘s Toronto office, were Mexico’s Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Francisco Suárez Dávila, and Canada’s Ambassador to Mexico, Mr. Pierre Alarie, along with other dignitaries.
