McCarthy Tétrault partner John Boscariol appointed to lead ABA Division

Toronto, September 6, 2013 — McCarthy Tétrault congratulates partner John Boscariol, head of the firm’s International Trade & Investment Law Group, on his recent appointment with the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of International Law. Mr. Boscariol will be serving as Chair of the Public International Law Division overseeing Committees of international interest, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, corporate social responsibility, human rights and refugee law.

Mr. Boscariol will be serving as Chair of the Public International Law Division overseeing Committees of international interest, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, corporate social responsibility, human rights and refugee law.
Mr. Boscariol is no stranger to the ABA and has been involved in its activities for over 15 years. He has held a number of leadership roles, including as Co-Chair of the Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Committee and as Co-Chair of the Canada Committee. He has also been active in Canadian bar associations, including serving as Chair of the Ontario Bar Association International Law Section and currently as a member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Joint Committee on Anti-Corruption.
Mr. Boscariol is a recognized leader in advising on laws and policy governing the cross-border trade of goods and services, transfers of technology and the protection of foreign investment. His practice focuses on enforcement and compliance matters regarding anti-corruption laws and policies, economic sanctions, export and technology transfer controls, international trade and foreign investment agreements, customs issues, trade remedies, and government contracting.
