McCarthy Tétrault Elects New Board Members
January 28, 2008
Toronto, January 28, 2008 — McCarthy Tétrault, Canada’s premier law firm, has elected four new members to its Board of Partners: Richard J. Balfour, Nancy J. Carroll, David A.N. Lever and J. Michael McIntosh.
Since 2002, McCarthy Tétrault partners have delegated authority to an elected Board, which, under the direction of the Chair and Chief Executive Officer, leads the firm.
"Our clients are well-served by this organizational structure because it enables us to efficiently manage and integrate our expertise to deliver comprehensive results," said W. Iain Scott, who is serving his second consecutive four-year term as Chair and CEO of McCarthy Tétrault. "Under this structure, which mirrors those of our clients’ organizations, our lawyers practise within a single, unified partnership and are able to deliver complex, sophisticated, multi-dimensional legal services to our clients."
The new members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board. They join current members W. Iain Scott, G. Blair Cowper-Smith, Philip C. Moore, F. Paul Morrison, Simon V. Potter, Anne-Marie Sheahan and Rosemarie Wertschek.
