Biography

Ailbish Skinner is an associate in our Business Law Group in Vancouver. Her practice is primarily focused in the areas of corporate commercial law, credit facilities and project finance.

Recent transactions include:

  • Advising a proponent for the Finch West LRT Project;
  • Advising the lenders to a proponent for the George Massey Tunnel Replacement Project;
  • Advising the lenders to a proponent for the Brockville Hospital Project;
  • Advising the sole underwriter on the private placement of $2.9 billion of bonds to fund development of the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric generation and transmission facility;
  • Negotiating and advising a Canadian concessions company on a transaction with the Government of Bermuda with respect to the L.F. Wade International Airport Redevelopment Project;
  • Negotiation on behalf of port operator of a syndicated credit facility of $300 million;
  • Advising the lenders to a proponent for the Groves Memorial Hospital Project;
  • advising the lenders to the successful proponent for the Borden Data Centre Expansion Project;
  • advising the lenders to the successful proponent for the Penticton Regional Hospital Patient Care Tower Project;
  • advising the lenders to the successful proponent for the Saint John Safe Clean Drinking Water Project;
  • advising the lenders to the successful proponent for the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Project;
  • assisting a borrower in obtaining loan facilities secured under its capital markets platform; and
  • advising the successful proponent for the South Fraser Perimeter Road Project.

Ms. Skinner joined the firm in May 2013 as a summer articled student. She received a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2010 and her J.D. (With Distinction) from the University of Western Ontario in 2014. While at Western Law, Ms. Skinner was on the Dean’s Honor List and was awarded the Margaret H. McNulty Prize and Law Society of Upper Canada Prize for academic excellence.

Ms. Skinner was called to the British Columbia bar in 2015. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association and the Vancouver Bar Association.
