Ian Mak is a partner in our Financial Services Group in Toronto. He has a corporate practice specializing in all aspects of banking and secured lending transactions, including leveraged acquisition transactions, syndicated financings, subordinate and mezzanine lending, bond financings, asset-based lending, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional financings and general credit matters.

Mr. Mak regularly advises Canadian banks and other Canadian and international institutional lenders in the negotiation and structuring of corporate and commercial credit facilities. In addition, he regularly acts for REITs, private equity funds and other financial sponsors in the negotiation of financing arrangements in connection with acquisition targets across diversified sectors including retail, real estate, renewable energy and infrastructure. Mr. Mak also has significant experience advising financial sponsors and other public and private companies in connection with their ongoing compliance with their credit arrangements and financing structures.

Mr. Mak received his BBA (Business Administration - Management Studies) from Simon Fraser University in 2004 and his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2007.

Mr. Mak was called to the Ontario bar in 2008. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
